Kangaroo Bluff was a battery built in 1880. Fitting into the curvature of the steep bluff, it is laden with underground passages and chambers. Equipped with an array of weaponry, including two guns weighing over 25 tons, and surrounded by a deep moat, this battery was impenetrable.

This historic colonial house was once home to Tasmania's first lawyer who was known for protesting against the shipment of convicts from Britain.
